Thou Shall Rise

Thou shall change for better or for worse
Knows no one but time to come
The upheaval shall decide what you averse
The tides await rhythm of destruction to hum

The eventful journey is itself a surprise
The possession obsession too low as a prize
Fear not, the times shall pass
Alas! look at what you shall surpass

In the era of depression, intolerance and agitation
Lines of Shakespeare and Ruskin Bond feels exaggeration

The need of the hour is so vague
Orthodox thinking has hit worse than plague

The science is at par
But humanity has lowered the bar

The aim waivers like a flickering candle
Easy to kindle but hard to handle

But the best part is thou shall rise
When meagre supplies shall suffice

Until then, the human hope is besmeared
Like the past, present has sneered

This isn't a race or tug of war
It's between who you wanna be and who you are
